Everything coming up Easter

Everything coming up Easter

Do you love decorating for holidays? I do, sometimes just something so simple looks so beautiful.  Like in the above picture painted Easter Eggs and feathers.

The kids favourite  part of Easter is the Egg Hunt.https://www.facebook.com/events/559297567507341/ Our family is so fortunate to live in a community where a few familes put together a ginormous Egg Hunt for all the kids. Local families and businesses donate all the chocolate wrapped eggs. It’s so great to see the community come together for the kiddies.   If that isn’t a slam dunk my dear friend also puts on an Egg Hunt for the kids in her back yard. Talk about a few busy Bunnies!

Brunch

If you know me at all you know I love cooking and hosting family and friends in our home.   If you are lucky enough to host a brunch here are a few of my favourite recipes to make your meal a sweet success. Don’t forget to get the Champagne and OJ out because a brunch isn’t perfect without a Mimosa or 4!

 The Best Granola

  • Preheat oven to 300°. Combine 1 large beaten egg white, 3 cups old-fashioned oats, 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (such as almonds, pistachios, pecans, or walnuts), 1 1/2 cups coconut shavings, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup olive oil or warmed coconut oil, 1/4 cup sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons (packed) light brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons  salt, and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon in a large bowl; toss to combine. Spread out on a rimmed baking sheet.
Bake granola, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown and dry, 40-45 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet (it will crisp as it cools).
  • Mix in 1 cup dried cherries or cranberries. DO AHEAD: Granola can be made 2 weeks ahead. Store airtight at room temperature.
    Serve with Greek yoghurt.
  •
Bacon really enough said because anyway you prepare it everyone will love it!  In our house you cannt stop at bacon either, they want peamel bacon and sausage. For the love of the Bacon!

Over Night French Toast Overnight French Toast this recipe is super easy and always a crowd pleaser. Enjoy!

Cheesy eggs is a fav around here for Brunch. Pretty simple scrambled eggs with loads of cheese in them. I am a sucker for Eggs Benny but with everything else I typically save this by itself for a Sunday Breakfast instead.

Fruit Salad  this ones up to you and what’s a available. We love all berries, pineapple, cantaloupe, grapes and honeydew melon. What about you?

Serve coffee and tea with your favourite liqueurs for a fun twist.

Decor ideas

This year I bought two Moss Bunnies from Michaels and put then on my coffee table. They are so sweet I love them!

Fresh flowers are a must for Easter Decor, tulips, pussy willows, cotton stems, hyacinth, cherry bloosoms and many more. There really is so many to choose from but like I have said before “flowers make you happy”!

When setting your table small touches like a painted egg sitting on your napkins or a small piece of pussy willow tied with twine. Use spring colourful napkins with your traditional plate ware.  Try a few small vases full of Easter eggs for more colour on your table.

Edit

Enjoy and cherish the time with your family and friends however you spend your Easter 💛

 Until next time,
